Chapter Status and Documents

The LSU Alumni DC Chapter is registered as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) with the State Corporation Commission in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We were incorporated in October 2011, and in 2013 we partnered with the LSU Alumni Association in Baton Rouge to create a dual membership program for alumni that benefits the university as well as the DC Chapter to carry out our primary business goals.

As of 2015, we are classified as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization (Public Charity). All dues and contributions to the Chapter are tax-deductible.

The Operating Agreement is the official chapter business document regarding our activities. These bylaws include details about the chapter's mission, leadership, board meetings, elections, and ethics. Executive Officers are elected on an annual basis. Any member of the Chapter can run for office, and every member has an equal vote.

Board Meeting Information and Financial Reports

To be transparent and accountable to our members, quarterly board meeting agendas/minutes and quarterly financial reports will be provided. Board meetings are held during the first week of each fiscal quarter (July; October; January; April).

Past newsletters and community email updates are posted on the news page. Registered LSU DC Alumni members receive additional updates and invitations to all chapter events and business, which may not be open to the general public.
